New OCI8 Driver
Here's some great news for those of us that have PHP apps that call an Oracle database. It will be interesting to see how the new connection pooling works and how many changes will be required to existing apps to make use of this change. I'm hopping to have some time to test this new driver and maybe provide some feedback.
Oracle announced on Wednesday (October 10th, 2007) the enhancement and preview release of an upgraded Oracle Call Interface (OCI8) driver for PHP.
